Some people do: Some people do stay on antidepressants for many years, depending on the symptoms they experience without them. Talk with your psychiatrist about this, your own treatment plan, and whether other forms of treatment besides pharmaceuticals would be applicable. Some such treatments might be psychotherapy, and might be helpful.
