Can i ask to be sedated during lipoma removal?

Yes, may not get it: You can ask your surgeon for sedation for lipoma excision. Whether or not you get it depends on 1) your wishes after discussing it 2) your surgeons preference and size/location of lipoma 3) access to a facility/nurse/anesthesia services to have it done 4) your insurance approval or willingness to pay for it.

Yes you may: But it depends on the size and location of the lipoma whether sedation is really a good idea. A small lipoma can easily removed under local anesthesia (numbing medicine that is injected). With larger lipomas, local anesthesia alone may not be enough. I've been involved with cases where full general anesthesia was needed. Talk to your surgeon and see what he/she recommends.
