Surgical lipoma exc: One of the most tried and true ways to removal lipomas are through direct surgical excision. Depending on the location and size of the lipoma, this can usually be done under local anesthesia in the doctor's office. There has also been good data reported in the use of laser assisted lipolysis (smartlipo) in the removal of select lipomas. This method yields very small scars.
