Sometimes helpful: A ductogram is indicated if there is bleeding from the nipple. it may reveal an intraductal lesion like a tumor or a papilloma. It is unlikely to show a DCIS. If there is no palpable tumor mass, it can wait since mammogram and sonogram would have picked up anything substantive.

Not likely : You cannot see DCIS on a ductogram. These studies are rarely done these days. White, yellow, milky and green discharge are considered normal. Bloody discharge is usually caused by a noncancerous mass called a papilloma. I recommend you get examined by a breast specialist before proceeding the a ductogram.

Yes: A ductogram is a picture of a single milk duct, with contrast inside the duct. It can detect very subtle abnormalities that have not formed a mass big enough to be seen by mammogram, ultrasound, or even MRI. Some DCIS or cancers spread along the ducts, never forming a mass. This type of cancer is INCREDIBLY hard to detect. Please have the test. Good luck!
