I am diagnosed 7mm dcis lesion. it is located 2 cm above my nipple. i am to have a lumpectomy. the surgeon says he will make a 5cm incision above the lesion. is it not possible to cut me around the nipple?

Discuss with surgeon: The anatomy around the nipple is complex. The surgeon should make the surgical approach to cause the least damage and leave the smallest scar possible. You ought to have that conversation with your surgeon before the procedure.
