A member asked:

Will doubling my 10 mg of lisinopril and 12.5 mg of hydrocllorothiazide lower my bp. currently 150/80 needs to be 140/90 for dot physical?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lowering BP: Yes, increasing the dose of Lisinopril (L) from 10 to 20 mg will reduce your blood pressure. Ask your physician to consider increasing the dose of L to 40 mg, the maximum. It will take about 7-14 days for the L to have its maximum BP lowering effect reflect in your BP readings. Increasing the dose does not increase the risk of any adverse events. Good luck.
