First get diagnosis!: I always tell my patients it is is better to know WHAT you are treating, instead of just treating the symptoms. It is possible you have a yeast infection, but other conditions can cause itching in the genital region, so unless you know for certain it is a yeast infection, I would see your doctor. If there is a thick white discharge it's probably yeast, but you didn't mention a discharge.

Itching: Itching and burning could be due to thrush, herpes, allergy, dermatitis etc . Thrush creams can be given a try but its a good idea to see a doctor, have examination and a confirmed diagnosis and then get treated accordingly.
