No fads: In my opinion, you're thinking about this wrong. Diets (short term caloric restrictions) do not result in weight loss that is maintained. Subtle but sustainable changes to your diet (what you eat every day) can have life-long results. Make subtle changes to what you eat to take in fewer calories per day and increase your activity to burn more. You should not shoot to loss more than 1 pound/week.
