Can a pulmonary func test rule out anything if you feel like your having breathing issues can it rule out resp distress or clinical vs perceived issue?

Only lung conditions: Pulmonary function tests are very helpful in orienting us about the possibility of lung conditions contributing to your symptoms. Normal PFT's are helpful in ruling out some lung conditions: asthma or emphysema, among others. Normal PFT' s do not rule out all lung conditions, cardiac, muscular or anxiety that still may play a role in your symptoms.
