Depends: On what you are working towards. You can lift to get stronger bigger. Or you can lift to tone and maintain. Talk to a personal trainer about you goals. They could provide all the info you need. Or look up info and see which workout will fit your goals. You build up to your goals. As in all workout routines. Proper technique is more important than heavier weight
