Questionable: Nipple discharge unrelated to previous hysterectomy. There isalways fluid in the milk due and any serous drainage is of no consequence. Evenanoccassional bloody discharge can reflect the presence of a benign intra ductal papilloma. Any new change in the breast should have a follow up mammogram since the purpose is to detect the possible presence of early pathologic changes.

Longer exam than 10m: Yes, it will take longer than 10 minutes. If you have clear, brown, black or bloody nipple discharge that comes out on its own, then that is a reason for a diagnostic mammogram. You will have mammogram images of both your breasts and special magnified views of the area behind the nipple on the side of the discharge along with an ultrasound. This is a diagnostic study and it will take a longer time

It takes about: 10 minutes to perform a screening mammo. You are getting a diagnostic mammo, so there may be special extra views and possibly an ultrasound . If you add in the time it takes for the blood work, plus registration, paperwork, changing, etc..., 2 hours is probably about right.
