Breast discomfort: With the symptoms you describe, you should be examined and evaluated for infection of the breast, mastitis. Look out for redness and swelling of the skin of the breast. Bacteria can enter the ducts and cause infection. Further evaluation by your doctor can help determine infection or any other inflammatory process. For now, keep the skin clean with soap & water, dry well, Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain.

Breast abscess: Most likely. If your primary care physician does not feel comfortable treating this, then a surgeon or other appropriate specialist needs to see it. You may want to put warm compresses on it until you can be seen -- and get seen as soon as you can during the day.
