Disagree with Rx: Why hasn't the stimulator been replaced, as the newer versions have better batteries and are far smaller? Usually cough occurs when VNS settings too aggressively set, not when removed. Removal may result in increased seizures, and maybe your cough is part of a partial seizure. Have you discussed this with your neurologist??
