Anosmia: Causes broadly fall in 3 categories: post-head trauma, anatomic nasal obstruction, or olfactory nerve dysfunction. Obstruction can be from chronic sinusitis or nasal allergies. Nerve dysfunction is usually post-viral after a common cold. See an ENT for a thorough nasal exam and possibly a scan.
