Birth control: If you're not wanting to get pregnant, birth control pills may lessen the bleeding and therefore the pain. Anti inflammatory meds like ibuprophen can help, too. If it's a submucous fibroid (inside the uterine cavity) it can be removed thought a hysteroscope ( a scope that goes though the cervix into the uterus), which can be done as an outpatient.
