Control inflammation: Steroid drops are commonly prescribed for eye problems. This includes non-infectious inflammation of the surface of the eye, a variety of inflammations inside the eye including many things at the back of the eye. They are also used frequently after many types of eye surgery. As they have side effects they should only be used under care of an ophthalmologist.
