A member asked:

Should doctors give steroids to a 17 yr old for a terribly swollen eye caused by a bug bite?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reasonable: For the acute allergy based reaction of a bug bite on eyelids, a pulse corticosteroid treatment is very reasonable to reduce eyelid swelling, itchiness, and discomfort. A brief treatment is not likely to impose any unfavorable health consequences.
