Does steroid eye drops like maxidex or fml need to be tapered off after using 4/ day for a week? 1 doc says taper off. another say not required.

Depends: If the condition you are treating with topical steroids has responded and there is no residual inflammation left, then you can stop the drops. If the inflammation gradually is diminishing but is still present or has a tendency to recur if the steroid is stopped, then continue at a lower doesl.
