A member asked:

Can you tell me how precise is doppler ultrasound in detecting epididymitis and hernia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mixed: A hernia can be detected relatively accurately with an ultrasound and even better yet with physical exam. Epididymitis is slightly more difficult. It can sometimes been seen on ultrasound, but it is more of a clinical diagnosis and is treated with NSAID (anti-inflammatories) and sometimes steroids and antibiotis
