A member asked:

What is rbc morphology and what does it mean when your ovalocytes are at +1?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Red blood cells: Rbc morphology defines the size, shape, color and other factors necessary to help determine causes for abnormalities. Ovalocytes at 1% may mean very little, particularly if the value was determined by a computer rather than a microscopic exam of the blood. Labs are of very little value unless combined with a thorough history, physical exam and assessment by a knowledgeable thoughtful physician.
