Are there any weight loss pill that actually works?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Not really: The prescription pills like Phentermine can decrease appetite but no study has ever demonstrated that the effect is long-standing. Orlistat is somewhat effect but the side effects are unsettling and long-term weight control not significant. Changing the way you view your health and making changes in your lifestyle are the only things that will work in the long-term.

Yes: most work to some degree or for a limited amount of time. review of data suggest: Belviq: 6-8% body weight loss in 12 weeks Phentermine: 8-10% body weight loss in 12 weeks Qsymia: 9-11% body weight loss in 12 weeks note that NONE are recommended for long term weight management. i believe that they are effective and can help someone get a good start but must be used with diet and exercise changes
