Call doctor: Without knowing the details of the history and the findings on physical exam the best suggestion that can be offered would be to call the doctor who saw him and discuss his current condition with them.

Off and On Fever: Most febrile illnesses in younger children r caused by viruses and gen resolve in 7- 10 days.Watch for signs accompanying fever such as cough, vomiting, poor appetite or bumps/rashes on body or ulcers in mouth and hydration. If he doesnt look "sick" and perks up when fever is down, u may cont observation w fluids and fever meds a few more days and expect him to recover soon, may be w a new rash!
