Complex question: Addison's disease is adrenal failure, and that can cause you to be quite ill. However, it is not clear what is meant by "low cortisol". Cortisol varies considerably throughout the day. One blood measurement does not diagnose much of anything. You may want to see an Endocrinologist before beginning any treatment for this.
