Hi there, my wife gets severe migraine while having her period. this happens every month. any suggestions on meds to take as the normal headache tables does not work thank you ?

Menstrual Headaches: The drop in estrogen just before her period may contribute to headaches. Have your wife talk to her Dr about prescription medications. Oral contraceptives help regulate the hormone levels, keeping them steady so that the migraine trigger is resolved,.They can also prescribe Triptans, NSAIDS with Triptans, Dihydroergotamine, or antidepressants which all work to prevent the migraine.
