Pancreatitis: All symptoms relate to failure to digest foods properly. In particular floating stool suggests that there is a large amount of undigested fat in the stool. This occurs when there is a failure to produce an adequate amount of pancreatin which is activated normally by bile. When pancreatin decreases fat appears in stool and there may be signs of fatty liver and mild mid abdominal pancreatic pain.
