Had distal radius 813.42 surgery, then a external fixator on for a month after surgery. now removed, but wrist & fingers are very stiff, wrist wont flex up at all. is this normal? how long to recover?

Very common...: This problem is very common after distal radius surgery, especially with an ex-fix. You wil need hand therapy for several weeks but your function should gradually improve.

Surgeries vary: Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health and surgeries vary especially more involved ones. BUT, stiffness is pretty much universal. If there's some deformity from the accident then range of motion might not ever return fully. PHYSICAL THERAPY would generally be given for months after.
