Doubt it: The antiquated term RSD is good to think of after major trauma (eg. fractures to long bones). Highly unusual for RSD to affect hips and back, especially as an upshot of "arthritis." I'd consider another opinion to begin with before thinking anything were coming "out of remission." Your symptoms as described more likely related to arthritis which itself progresses & can be resistant to treatment.
