Rx anxiety: If you wish to start holy basil for anxiety, I'd talk to your doctor about a short tapering schedule for Xanax (alprazolam). You're on a pretty low dose so that should be accomplished fairly easily. However, keep in mind that using holy basil for more than 6 weeks has no established safety. Hence, I'd consider L-theanine or Lavella ( oral lavender) for the treatment of chronic, mild anxiety.

Focus on life: You probably already know this, but anxiety problems can be solved by changing behaviors. One of the most important behavioral changes is to replace a desire to avoid with a desire to approach. In the absence of a real threat, avoidance is fuel for anxiety. So, if you'd like to do something but feel afraid . . . do it anyway (when no real threat is present). This usually takes lots of practice.
