Anxiety symptoms: Anxiety symptoms more commonly affect the left side in general. In your case, if you are taking the xanax (alprazolam) before bed, it is probably worn off when you awaken, leaving you unprotected from the xanax (alprazolam) anti-anxiety effects in the morning. Xanax (alprazolam) really only lasts 8 hours.
