Definitely possible: Palpitations are a common effect of anxiety. Of course, i would recommend you discuss this with your pcp to be sure they are aware of these symptoms and may consider if any further testing is necessary.

Yes, but there is : Chance that they may be caused by a medical and/or other conditions. Some medical and psychological conditions present with palpitations/anxiety therefore will recommend you check it out with your pcp. Good luck.

Most likely!: If you are taking a medicine for anxiety, such as xanax, (alprazolam) and your symptoms are relieved when taking the medication, it is likely that your symptoms are those of anxiety. Xanax (alprazolam) and similar medications are specific for anxiety, and do not tend to mask or relieve other symptoms. It makes sense to get your heart thoroughly checked to be sure.
