HPV: Is a sexually transmitted disease. I would advise condoms and also screening PAP smears. The vaccination with Gardasil is really indicated for younger patients; however discuss the with your GYN. Make sure to use condoms and birth control now that you are sexually active.

It depends: There are many strains of HPV. If you both have the same strain, then there is less of a concern but if your strains are different, you can infect each other with the different strain. This would then lead to new warts. However, even your own HPV can lead to new warts and other problems as it cannot be fully cured and stays in your system.
