A member asked:

Hump on the back of my lower neck where my head joins the upper spine hurts to touch and causing headaches.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neck pain: The area you describe is where the lower part of the neck (cervical spine) connects with the mid back (thoracic spine). The headaches (cervicogenic) are caused by tight neck muscles that insert on the back of the head. The C6/7 level is a common area for pain due to a herniated or degenerated disc. Moist heat, ice and massages can reduce the pain. If it persists see a neurosurgeon.
