A member asked:

Why always a pumping noise in my ears?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Carotid artery: You may be aware of the carotid artery (large artery in the neck) that is anatomically located next to the cochlea ( inner ear). At age 25, it almost is never serious. However, if it is not pulsatile as consistent with your heart beat, you may have a type of tinnitus which is a a central (brain) excitatory phenomenon. See an ENT doctor for a specific diagnosis.
