A member asked:

Is chronic sinusitis treatment with prednisone (total 275mg in 20d)and antibiotics beneficial for diabetic with thyroid problems?or priority tosurgery

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diagnosis: 20 days of Prednisone is too long for the treatment of sinusitis. The usual dose is 60 mg. Daily for 5 days. The Prednisone can have an effect on your blood sugar. If the cat scan reveals chronic sinusitis and you have been on multiple antibiotics and you are symptomatic, that is, yellow green nasal discharge, pain and pressure in the face for more than 90 days. Surgery is appropriate.
