See neurologist: Other conditions (or medications like amitriptyline) can contribute to neuropathy. Kidney disease, diabetes, vitamin deficiency (or toxicity in the case of vitamin b6 toxicity) infections and thyroid disease might need to be adressed in addition to other physical issues causing nerve compression or traction (tarsal tunnel syndrome). This problem usually requires a good work up.

Cymbalta (duloxetine): Cymbalta is a good option for neuropathy because it works on the peripheral nerves by a different pathway than Lyrica (pregabalin) or Neurontin (gabapentin). Cymbalta should be started at a low dose at bedtime and gradually increased over several weeks to avoid the side effects and to determine the effectiveness on the treatment of the neuropathy.
