A member asked:

Can you tell me if an ear infection goes too long can your eardrum rupture?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necesarily: It car rupture early in the process if the germ is aggressive or never at all after months of a low grade infection. Previous ruptures or ear surgery can weaken the drum and make it more likely to drain.
