Depends: HTN in a young adult (btw - says your age is 50) differs from older adult. Any new medications or recreational drugs (including alcohol), obesity, other diseases occurring ? HBP?: If you mean high blood pressure at age 19. This is a very serious diagnosis. You should maintain close contact with your Family Physician and determine whether it is primary essential hypertension or some form of secondary hypertension. Follow their recommendations closely and make sure you follow up regularly to get the condition under control.
