My 28/295 son has severe swelling and pain on the top of right foot. limps. takes norvace 10mg for hbp otherwise healthy. why?

? gout: Norvasc (amlodipine) causes edema (swelling), but that is painless, and usually effects both feet. Severe pain and swelling might be due to gout. Infection, fracture, or other types of arthritis are possible also. Your son should see a doctor to sort this out.

Limps: Pain on top of the foot and limping can be a sign of arthritis. Your son should see a podiatrist for x-rays and a biomechanical evaluation of his lower extremities.
