A member asked:

What to do if i cannot speak due to cancer no voice is there a group for me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Esophageal speech: Probable cancer you are referring to is Ca of the larynx with involvement of cords that causes loss of speech to some degree. More often this is the result of a laryngectomy with absent voice box. One is able to learn relatively simply, esophageal speech where air is forced out of the esophagus into the mouth producing the proper sound.
