What to do if i broke my big toe and was referred to an orthopedic surgeon at children's hospital. the toe is broken expect since i can barely walk to get crutches?

Need more support.: You can also get yourself a removable cast as well if crutches are too hard. Will hurt for a few weeks.

Get Evaluated: This injury could be into the joint. If so, it may need to have surgery to prevent long-term problems. My suspicion is that the on call doctor was a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, which is why you're following up at the children's hospital. I would not worry about where you were following up, this individual is fully capable of diagnosing and most likely treating any adult big toe injury. If not i'm sure he/she will refer to the appropriate provider.
