Dental x-rays: An OPG which stands for ORTHOPANTOGRAM (panoramic x-ray), gives a panoramic view of the mandible and teeth in general. A panoramic x-ray is not the best method for detecting cavities and dental problems. Full mouth series x-rays (14 periapical and 4 bite-wings) will eliminate the confusion and provide the dentist with proper imaging for diagnosis.
