A member asked:

After 2 miscarriages, will she always miscarry or it possible she could still carry a baby to full term?

Miscarriage: The cause of most miscarriages is a chromosomal abnormality in the fetus. One in five pregnancies ends in miscarriage. The chance of another miscarriage after two miscarriages isn't any higher. The odds are still in your favor that the fetus will be normal. However, sometimes parents carry a chromosomal re-arrangement which increases the risk of a miscarriage. Talk to your doctor.

Very possible: Believe it or not, 2 miscarriages can be very common. Your doc will review your history to eliminate things such as an incompetent cervix, hormone deficiency, or any other risks that are easily identified. It helps to know when they occurred and if an embryo was formed. Most work ups come out empty and many women later have normal healthy babies. See your OB soon if pregnant again & good luck.
