PSVT: Fast heart beat, cough and shortness of breath can be due to paroxysmal supra-ventricular tachycardia at your age. Please see your pcp and you may need holter monitor for the diagnosis. You will need an echocardiogram to rule out structural heart disease and thyroid stimulating hormone to rule out hyperthyroidism. You may need to see a cardiologist if your pcp cannot do holter on his office.
