Diabetic neuropathy?: Foot pain in diabetics is potentially serious and should definitely be evaluated by a competent physician or podiatrist. The pain may be related to diabetic neuropathy, or vascular insufficiency, infection, etc. All of these conditions can be treated, some with very good success. This is not a do it yourself condition, and should be considered serious until a diagnosis is made.

Yes. and not sure: Diabetes is a life long disease. Longer the blood sugar stays out of control; higher the chances of nerve damage. So emphasize that your father eats right kind of food and takes diabetic medicines and monitors his blood sugar regularly. Nerve med. For foot pain or oil massage is only symptomatic treatment if he feels strong; good . Weight control and avoiding injury to his feet is very important.

Diabetes ; leg pain: Your dad may have a condition that should be treated with doctor-prescribed medication, and he needs a proper diagnosis for his condition. Two common problems are peripheral arterial disease or diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I think without the diagnosis is just a guessing game. Your dad needs to see his doctor immediately.
