Hello. i was diagnosed with strep throat 3 days ago. started taking azithromycin 2 tablets 250 mg first day and 1 everyday for 4 days. not better!

Strep/Zithromax: I'm not surprised. More and more strep are becoming resistant to Azithromycin and it is not considered a very good antibiotic anymore for strep. Penicillin or Amoxicillin is still the treatment of choice by far. You need to call your doc back today, let them know you are not improving on the current antibiotic and request a change or re-evaluation (could you have something lie mono in addition?).
