Many causes: Hi. Neuropathy is damage to nerve function by metabolic factors, toxins, injuries, etc. Specific types of nerve fibers can be afflicted. In my field, diabetes is a very common cause of neuropathy. Some chemotherapy drugs cause neuropathy. Nutritional deficiencies can cause neuropathy (vitamin B12 deficiency is a classic). So yes, a non-diabetic can have neuropathy.
