A member asked:

Have you ever seen neuro symptoms / myelopathy / neuropathy, in meat + dairy eating, non diabetic, women under age of 30 with b12 levels of 280ngl? borderline b12 low, is this low enough to cause symptoms? thank you?

Analysis: Your diet has likely very little to do with whether B-12 levels stay normal, as this depends on the gastric function of intrinsic factor, and if impaired via any mechanism will lead to decrease absorption. Symptoms can and do occur at 280, but certainly not as severe as if lower. You likely would benefit from injectable B-12 shots. Contact your doctor.
