Minimal: Inhaled steroids are generally well-tolerated. Some people may experience irritation in the throat and may cause thrush if mouth is not rinsed properly after each use. Other less common side effects include weight gain, increased blood sugar level (if diabetic), and increase pressure of the eyes (glaucoma). The longer you use the inhaled steroid then it's more likely to develop side effect.

Steroid side effects: Long term, chronic, high dose steroids can have side effects on the bones, eyes, appetite. However, in the short term, the steroid inhaler can help your allergy symptoms without undue side effects.
