I have a sharp pain that starts on the inner side of my foot and it shoots up leg. the pain comes and goes in episodes. what is causing this?

Needs to be seen.: It's better to be seen, examined to be more accurate. Radiating pain from foot to leg is most commonly caused by a nerve stimulated by inflammation or external pressure. Probbly an x ray will be needed besides a good examination.
