Consult your dentist: If your tooth has died (this is the cause of the discoloring), then it likely needs a root canal to clean out the infection... The color can be remedied by externally bleaching the tooth specifically with professional customized home whitening trays over a period of a few weeks...If the color still persists, a "walking bleach" internal whitening can be performed through the root canal access...

Lots of questions: If your tooth is dead and dark, it sounds like the tooth has suffered some trauma or you have had root canal therapy. What is comes down to is whether of not the tooth is restorable or not. A dentist can determine that for you. If it is, a crown can be placed on the tooth to help it look more natural and not dark. If it is not restorable, then an implant may be the best solution. Good luck.
